Webinar “Living Together – The World is My Family”

“Living Together – The World is My Family”
on the occasion of the United Nations International Day of Living Together in Peace.

The webinar was held on Tuesday 18th May 2021 on the ZOOM platform.

The event included a special message from Sheikh Khaled Bentounes – the initiator of the UN International Day of Living Together in Peace.

Sheikh Khaled Bentounes is a recognised worldwide spiritual leader who is heir to an unbroken chain going back to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He is the 44th spiritual guide of the Sufi Brotherhood Alāwiyya-Darqāwiya-Shādhiliyya.

For more than 40 years, he has been travelling the world to promote interreligious dialogue, gender equality, environmental protection and peace.

Sheik Bentounes works tirelessly to transmit the Culture of Peace and Living Together through a millennial and universal spirituality that illuminates our vision and reconciles the human family. His initiation of the International Day of Living Together in Peace, was unanimously adopted by the 193 member states of the United Nations. The day is celebrated every year on May 16.

The first presentation by Mandip Sohal focuses on exploring the key spiritual and material aspects of the unique Sikh practice ‘Langar’ – the free meal provided in Gurdwaras (Sikh place of worship) to all. Throughout the world, this act of generosity is evident.

Mandip is a practising Sikh who has worked in a professional capacity in the financial centre of London for over 30 years. Mandip has always been part of community focussed work from running lunchtime Simran (Sikh meditation/prayer) in central London, to mentoring youngsters, to being involved in collaborative projects with Sikh networks. He has also been involved with and a trustee of URI UK since 2005, focusing on bridge-building project work between the faith communities in the UK.

In 2019, he co-founded Gurdwara Aid, a non-profit organisation which works with and helps Gurdwaras within the UK.

It was followed by a second presentation titled “Secrets of Global Peace from the original Hindu Scriptures: Loving God and all His children!” by H.H. Bhakti Rasayana Sagar Swami and H.G. Patri Prabhu.

H.H. Swami is a monk (sannyasi) and renowned teacher of the Bhakti-yoga tradition, with over 30 years of practice, as a lecturer and coach in the fields of conflict resolution, personal mission, and yoga for success. A professional mediator, he has trained at Harvard University in mediation. His track record includes political and business conflict resolution in the CIS countries, Great Britain, USA, India, etc.

Professor Igor Obolonkov, an Ex-Russian Commando Officer and Military Journalist later to be known as H.G. Patri Prabhu – a Bhakti Yogi, is our third presenter. H.G. Patri is a mystic saint, visionary humanitarian, and prominent multi-lingual spiritual leader. He is a modern-day spiritual guide for many influencers, Bollywood celebrities, corporate and political leaders. For his decades of service in India, he was awarded the Honorary Citizenship by the Government of India. His contribution in India and Nepal are notable among youths in the fields of education and social services. He is also a speaker at many top American & European universities, leadership summits, international conferences & TED talks.

After the presentations, a Q&A session was organized and participants enjoyed in music performance by H. G. Patri Prabhu.

Seventy participants from all over the world took part in this webinar and they all shared a lot of love and positive energy.
